Sedikit tentang informasi berdirinya Metalica,pada tahun 1981 oleh Lars Ulrich (drum) dan James Hetfield (Gitar). Nama “Metallica” dicetuskan oleh Ulrich saat membantu salah satu temannya mencari nama untuk sebuah Majalah yang mempromosikan Trash Metal dan NWOBHM (New Wave Of British Heavy Metal). Saat itu kata “Metallica” terucap begitu saja dari teman Ulrich tersebut, terus terbayang dan terngiang di kepala Ulrich, setelah berunding dengan Hetfield akhirnya mereka putuskan memakai nama itu sebagai nama band mereka hingga saat ini.
